I've been coming here for years, generally always had a good experience. Last night I was at the hospital for reasons still unresolved, and feeling terrible today as well I went to the clinic. To quote this new Doc: "Well if the hospital can't figure it out, what do you expect me to do?" This doc was confrontational, rude, and completely unwelcoming or helpful. In the end I suggested I just leave then since he didn't want to look at me or discuss my symptoms, and he didn't stop me in the least. I get better service at a drive through window.

I have a very interesting issue here because usually I have a hard time getting Doctors to listen to me, yet, here I had an issue with the Doctor (Doctor F***r) taking my word for an absolute diagnosis and not even performing preliminary testing.

I went in last week thinking I may have had a UTI. I was seen by Dr. F***r who asked what brought me in, and when I said \"I think I may have a UTI.\" He instantly began writing me a prescription for an antibiotic or medication or what not, it doesn\'t matter What He Was Writing because when I said \"Yes, but I have a pain in my right side.\" He looked very serious and then said \"Well, that\'s your kidney\" and knocked on my right torso briefly and asked if it hurt. I said yes and so then he instantly wrote me out another prescription for the antibiotics sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim. All of this without a urine sample or any testing to actually see whether or not I even had a UTI or a kidney infection.

I know they\'re very common, but it makes sense to at least be certain that you\'re treating the right thing, right?

Anyhow, it\'s five days later and I\'ve had to stop the antibiotics due to allergic reactions and if my UTI or Kidney Infection (hopefully someone will actually confirm What I have next time) resurfaces, I will NOT be going to the Care Point when Dr. F***r is on shift because, even if he did treat me with the correct medication, I\'m really aghast at his treatment of me as a patient. I did not feel good about it At All.

My granddad was my doctor from when I was born to when he retired when I was 18. He was obviously very sweet and kind to me and thus I have never really met a nice doctor like him since. I even had a doctor tell me that I should go out and get real friends because my friends work in the restaurant industry and therefore aren't real friends (yeh, I know) (I got him back though, I was a smoker back then and he said "I wouldn't recommend you to smoke", and I said "who would you recommend smoking to?") (what a dink)
Anyway, I moved to East Van about 3 years ago and have started seeing Dr. Polay. He is very non judgemental, he is very kind and he is very smart. Last year I was hit with a systemic infection and another doctor Rx'd me drugs that made it worse. Dr. Polay recognized it as a systemic bacterial and viral infection and Rx'd stuff that worked fine.
And he was very kind and sweet especially as I thought I had cancer and was hysterical at the time (do not google your symptoms, kids). Nicest doctor since my Ganddad. :)

I went in around 4pm on a weekday and only waited 10-12 minutes. A really nice and helpful doctor (Michael Polay) confirmed an existing injury to my hand was infected.

I was on my way with an Rx for antibiotics in 15 minutes. He suggested I come back in two days and told me his schedule.

Couldn't be happier.

I went in for a pap a yearly pap test. They have a new policy that requires you to pay $35 dollars for a short notice cancellation call. Well I did not short call cancel on them and they tried to charge me when I went in the next time, telling me that I couldn't see the dr until I paid. I threw a huge hissy fit and got in and of course I will NOT PAY ANY FEE! That's outrageous! I always find the nurses to be total stuck up b***s who treat people like complete crap. The drs are okay. Some are cold and others are better, but really it's the damn b*** nurses that are at every location.

Similar to previous review the doctor looked at me from a distance and said I have a virus and then just went to leave. He didn't ask any questions about symptoms and checked nothing. The bc nurse line is far superior but sadly we are paying these "doctors". Turns out I may have had a potentially serious personal and public health issue.
