This a wonderful walk-in clinic! Very friendly staff, clean, warm environment and fast, professional service. I have been numerous times and seen several doctors, and all of them treated my concerns seriously and with great care. I would strongly recommend anyone go to this clinic, it is so much superior to any other walk in I have been to.

My wife and I were very happy of the professional service that was provided at this clinic. Beyond, matters of medical thoroughness, they actually care. We arrived a few minutes before they closed to our surprise, and as much as it was the end of the day, they catered to our needs and took care my wife and I, without hesitation... Very satisfied.

When both husband and wife were recruited to work in Vancouver, we were delighted to move our family here -- but we haven\'t had an easy time finding a regular doctor. We\'ve been most grateful for the wonderful care of multiple Matters of Health doctors, including but not limited to K*** G*** (who has now moved on to his own practice), J*** H***, and V*** T***. And we\'re also grateful for the glue at the clinic, provided by P***, the manager, and C***, the assistant. Their diligence in juggling communication, referrals, and advocacy was even more appreciated when we were shocked by not one but two critical illness diagnoses in the same year. We\'ve been blessed to be in compassionate and competent hands. Thanks again, Matters of Health!

Every time I go to Matters of Health walk-in clinic I see a different doctor. The only reason I visit the clinic is for convenience sake, e.g. Rx Re-fills easy stuff. My GP is phenomenal but our work hours conflict, hence why I visit the clinic.

It is painfully apparent the front desk does not listen to patient\'s requests and books them with doctor\'s that do not know about their medical conditions or how to treat their symptoms properly. Which brings me to the frustrating ordeal I went through recently at this clinic and how things were mismanaged from the get-go by the powers that be.

I have ongoing bursitis flare ups, which can be extremely painful . For my condition I receive cortisone injections to alleviate chronic pain and to get on with my life. My regular physician does not do cortisone shots, so I visited the aforementioned walk-in clinic. I was told by clinic management multiple doctors do this procedure at Matters of Health. The specialist I used to see is retired.

I scheduled an appointment and saw Dr. H***. I explained to him my medial history at which time he said he could not give me a cortisone shot without an x-ray. Over the years I have never been asked to go get my knee x-rayed for something that will not show up on an x-ray, doesn\'t make sense. I do not have arthritis - it\'s bursitis, which I explained to these physicians. I should have ignored the red flag waving in front of my face.

Rheumatoid Specialists I have visited in the past would perform a physical examination of the site surrounding the bursae. Some other tests performed involved an MRI or Ultrasound. X-rays may show bone fractures, tumours, arthritis etc but not my condition.
I went to have the x-ray done anyway and called Matters of Health to reschedule with Dr. H*** to get my cortisone injection. You think at this point it would be a simple task for the clinic front desk to schedule to have the procedure done. Was I ever wrong it has turned into a medical nightmare!

I asked Dr. H*** the cost of the injection and he stated it\'s nothing. I thought his answer was odd, because I usually paid $20.00 for a shot. He did not mention I needed a prescription at the time or I needed to pick up the cortisone myself. Most doctor\'s offices have the medication readily available on site.

Dr. H*** was not available until March 14, 2016, according to the front desk. I asked them to schedule me with another doctor that did cortisone injections. They booked me an appointment with Dr. D***. Did I mention the front desk girl asked me if I brought the cortisone vial while I was waiting in their office to see the above doctor.

Dr. D*** asked me why I was there. She already viewed my x-ray and was reading Dr. H***\'s notes on file. I told her I was there to get a cortisone shot, which was indicated in the previous notes she had just read. Ok so humour me then I\'m thinking at this point in my head - she flatly states I don\'t do cortisone injections, but it doesn\'t end there.

Why did the front desk book me with Dr. D*** to begin with? Why is she relying on an x-ray to show bursitis when clearly it cannot visualize swelling and it wouldn\'t show up there?

I reiterated that I have bursitis and how cortisone shots have helped in the past. She also verbally confirmed that bursitis would not show up on my x-ray. Without asking to physically see the afflicted area in question, she said and I quote \" there is nothing wrong with you according to the x-ray.\"

Seriously, what are you basing your medical opinion on then? I pointed out her previous statement about bursitis not showing up on an x-ray. I stated you physically have not even looked at the knee area, so how are you qualified to make an accurate diagnosis on my health condition? Dr. D***\'s medical assumption, which she pulled out of the air was inconsistent and logically incongruous. It didn\'t make a single iota of sense, since she was attempting to base it solely on an x-ray. She was contradicting herself and she knew it and she knew I was getting annoyed.

Then she could see my clear frustration after her ridiculous statement she said \"I don\'t do cortisone shots period.\" I called her out on her inept medical advice and she left the room angry and did not return.

So my question to the management team that run Matters of Health is, \"how can you a put a patient\'s health care into such incapable, incompetent hands? Dr. D*** had no idea what she was talking about and should have immediately referred me to a physician that was better equipped to facilitate my medical questions and needs.

The clinic management team came into the room twice. They said that my case was a difficult situation and not every doctor can perform an injection. So they changed their story to protect their doctor who dropped the ball. They made it out to be a liability issue and what was best for me, the patient. When in fact they were doing damage control on the clumsy under qualified way Dr. D*** dealt with my situation.

At that point I was fed up at the clinic\'s incompetent way of handling my medical situation. I asked for a specialist referral and to see a doctor who actually knows what they are talking about instead of doling out wrong information.

It\'s too bad ... I actually liked Dr. H***, the first doctor I spoke to at the clinic. He refilled prescriptions and actually gave me good medical advice and solutions.

I\'m curious how many other patients Dr. D*** has misdiagnosed while under her care. Bar none the worst Doctor I have ever seen in my life and she has no business practicing medicine. I am in the process of contacting the College of Physicians to further discuss this matter.
